Research Interests
My current research agenda mergers my academic training in international relations, history, political science, and law. Currently, I am working on a research project that involves an exploration of the foreign policy relationship between the United States and Israel during President Barack Obama's first term. This project seeks to compare the relationship between the United States and Israel during President Obama's first term with that of the Presidency of George H.W. Bush (1989 to 1992). This project relies heavily on archival research at the Presidential Library of George H.W. Bush in College Station at Texas A&M. In additional to my research on Israeli/United States relations, I am working on completing my Ph.D. dissertation in History at the University of Memphis. My Ph.D. dissertation focuses on the interactions and relations between the New Right, feminism, the civil rights movement, and the gay rights movement and how the interactions between these movements shaped the politics of New York City in the period from 1989 to 1993. My Ph.D. dissertation will add to the scholarship of New York City politics, urban history, as well as contribute to the historiographical debate over the civil rights movement, feminism, the New Right, and the LGBT movements. Finally, I will use my legal training to comment on recent Supreme Court cases and other breaking legal news on American Public University System's School of Security and Global Studies' Blog project. Over the course of the next three years, I plan to produce several articles for publication and presentation at history and legal journals and conferences addressing my numerous research interests.
