The purpose of this organization is to support veterans and civilians wounded in the field; and provide networking opportunities for wounded and disabled veterans—as well as advocate for their cause. This student organization aims to unite students, alumni, faculty, and staff with an interest in supporting wounded soldiers.
Benefits include:
A viable network of veteran students, alumni, faculty and staff members, devoted to the dissemination of veteran-related news and information; mentorship and support for military-to-civilian transitions; and the establishment of fellowship and networking opportunities for members.

The Broken Shield-Wounded Veterans Society achieved ACTIVE standing, per the university's Chapter Standards program. Active standing demonstrates a notable level of chapter involvement and denotes excellence in chapter leadership and member engagement.

The Office of Student and Alumni Affairs is always looking for people to get involved and be campus leaders, including chapter officers, who lead student organizations like this one. Membership is available year-round to students and alumni in good academic standing in all degree fields at the university. Membership will be actively sought during the months of February and August.
