wSTEM provides an open forum for students to promote the female presence in STEM fields. Specifically, wSTEM will provide networking opportunities and valuable professional information, resources, and support for women in STEM fields to develop and enhance their careers.

Empower women to further their careers in STEM by providing education, mentorship, and role models for students, alumni, faculty, and staff members. Promote awareness of gender issues and construct an environment for discussion and reform across the university and the STEM industry.

Women in STEM achieved PLATINUM standing, per the university's Chapter Standards program. Platinum standing demonstrates the highest level of chapter involvement and denotes excellence in chapter leadership and member engagement.
Campus leadership opportunities are a great way to meet other students, alumni, and faculty at the university while also developing skills in the areas of:
- Self-management
- Administrative and project management
- Organizational knowledge and strategy
- Critical thinking and reflection
- Communication skills
- Leadership and teamwork
The Office of Student and Alumni Affairs is always looking for people to get involved and be campus leaders, including chapter officers, who lead student organizations like this one. Membership is available year-round to students and alumni in good academic standing in all degree fields at the university. Membership will be actively sought during the months of March and September.
